Man Travels the World in Recycled Bus

Andy Pag – a self-proclaimed “eco-adventurer” from Croydon, London – was met with a little skepticism when he dreamt up the idea to take a junked school bus on a trip around the world in 2009.
But two years later, Pag, 36, is about to prove all the nay-sayers wrong by ending his 19,000-mile, 25-country journey back in the U.K. on Friday, according to an article published on Tuesday by BBC News Dorset.
Pag first found the salvaged school bus in a scrap yard near his home and drove it 100 miles to a friend’s house in Dorset, England, where he and his buddies fixed it up for its journey.
With the help of Total Vehicle Technology and Oilybits, the fuel-guzzling engine of this repurposed wonder – which Pag later dubbed the Biotruck – was converted to run on used cooking oil.
Pag begged and borrowed used vegetable oil from restaurants when he could, but he was often forced to purchase biofuel in countries where used oil wasn’t available enough to fuel the truck.
The truck – which has a massive 317-gallon fuel tank – usually travels about 3,100 miles for each full tank of fuel, according to the BBC.
